Itinerary

Day 01

Upon arriving at Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), you will receive a warm welcome from your dedicated Lanka Essence Tours representative. Your inland journey kicks off with a stop at the famous Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, where you can watch the resident elephants being cared for. Later in the afternoon, you will head to Sigiriya to scale the iconic Sigiriya Rock Fortress, a celebrated UNESCO World Heritage site, before settling in for your overnight stay in Sigiriya.

Day 02

Your second day begins with a thrilling morning safari through Minneriya National Park, renowned for its diverse wildlife and large herds of wild elephants. Next, you will explore the awe-inspiring Dambulla Cave Temple, marveling at its beautiful Buddha statues and ancient rock paintings. En route to Kandy, you will make a stop in Matale to wander through a fragrant spice and herbal garden. Day 03

Day 04

Day 05

The morning starts with a visit to the spectacular Nine Arch Bridge, an absolute masterpiece of colonial-era engineering. From there, you will witness the beauty of the cascading Ravana Ella Waterfall. As you continue traveling south, you will stop to admire the giant rock-cut Buddha figures at the ancient Buduruwagala Temple. Day 06

Wake up for an early morning whale watching excursion out in the waters of Mirissa, recognized as one of the premier locations on earth to spot magnificent blue whales. Afterward, you will travel up the beautiful southern coastline, pausing at a local turtle hatchery to discover their important marine conservation efforts.
